  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Sauce:

  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Garlic: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently.
  2. Add Flour and Milk: Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps, then add the heavy cream.
  3. Thicken Sauce: Whisk until the sauce thickens, about 3–5 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Finish Sauce: Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly before using as a pizza sauce.
