Description

These White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers are a flavorful twist on a classic dish. Packed with fresh spinach and creamy white cheddar cheese, these juicy burgers are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

For the burgers:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

For cooking:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For serving:

  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo or aioli

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  4. Toast the burger buns if desired.
  5. Assemble the burgers with your preferred toppings and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can swap in turkey for chicken or use pre-cooked frozen spinach (thawed and squeezed dry).
  • These burgers also grill well—just oil the grates before cooking.
