Main Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey

Seasonings:

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 cup frozen corn (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion and garlic: Add the diced onion and cook until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Cook turkey: Add the ground turkey and cook until browned.
  4. Add seasonings and ingredients: Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce if using.
  5. Simmer: Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add corn if using during the last 10 minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with desired toppings.
