Description

Cookies:

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup fruit preserves or jam (raspberry, strawberry, apricot)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Shape and fill cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Press a well into the center of each ball and fill with jam.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  6. Cool and serve: Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
