Instructions
- Prepare the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil if using. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Cook the Onions and Garlic: Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Season and Simmer: Stir in taco seasoning, cumin, and chili powder if using. Add tomato sauce and water, then stir to combine. Reduce heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and becomes saucy.
- Adjust and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot in tacos, burritos, bowls, or salads.
