Brownies:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
For the Spider Web Topping:
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for easier piping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate: In a saucepan, melt butter and chocolate together over low heat until smooth.
- Combine ingredients: Remove from heat, whisk in sugar, then eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla. Sift in flour, salt, and cocoa powder, stirring until just combined.
- Bake: Pour batter into pan, smooth the top, and bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely.
- Make topping: Melt white chocolate and coconut oil, then pipe a spiral onto brownies. Use a toothpick to create a web effect.
- Set and serve: Allow topping to set before slicing into brownies.
