For the Cheesy Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Sear in a skillet until golden.
- Prepare the Gravy: Sauté onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Add flour, chicken broth, cream, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Simmer until thickened. Return chicken to skillet and simmer.
- Cook the Potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender. Mash with butter, milk, sour cream, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve: Plate mashed potatoes and top with chicken and mushroom gravy.
Notes
- Add a pinch of cayenne to the gravy for a slight kick.
