Ribs:
- 2 racks baby back pork ribs (about 4 pounds)
Spice Rub:
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Barbecue Sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs.
- Prepare the Spice Rub: Mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and cayenne. Rub the mixture over both sides of the ribs.
- Bake the Ribs: Wrap the ribs in foil and bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender.
- Glaze with Barbecue Sauce: Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce, increase oven temperature, and bake until caramelized.
- Serve: Rest the ribs before slicing and serve with extra BBQ sauce.
Notes
- For extra smokiness, add a dash of liquid smoke to your BBQ sauce.
- Finish the ribs on a hot grill for 5 minutes for a smoky charred finish.
