  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

For the BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Rub the spice mixture over the brisket. Sear the brisket in a skillet until browned.
  2. Make the BBQ Sauce: Whisk together ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
