Description

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix brownie batter: In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, red food coloring, and vinegar. Mix in eggs and flour.
  3. Layer and swirl: Spread most of the brownie batter in the pan. Mix cheesecake layer ingredients separately and spread over the brownie layer. Drop spoonfuls of remaining brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife. Sprinkle chocolate chips.
  4. Bake: Bake for 28–32 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  5. Cool and serve: Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Store refrigerated for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
