- 8 slices rye bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- Prepare Secret Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, garlic powder, and paprika. Set aside.
- Caramelize Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, cook sliced onions in butter until caramelized, about 15–20 minutes.
- Cook Beef Patties: Shape seasoned ground beef into 4 thin patties. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Assemble Patty Melts: Spread secret sauce on bread slices. Layer with cheese, beef patty, caramelized onions, and more cheese. Grill sandwiches until golden brown.
