For the Filling:
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast (chopped)
- 1 cup chopped fresh broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons Pampered Chef All-Purpose Dill Mix or dried dill
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Braid:
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz each)
- 1 egg white (lightly beaten)
- 2 tablespoons slivered almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, mix together the chopped chicken, broccoli, red bell pepper, cheese, mayonnaise, dill mix, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble the Braid: Unroll the crescent dough and arrange the triangles to form a rectangle. Spread the chicken mixture down the center. Cut strips on each side and fold over the filling to create a braided look.
- Bake: Brush with egg white, sprinkle with almonds if using, and bake for 25-28 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a shortcut, use rotisserie chicken.
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for some or all of the mayo.
- To make ahead, prepare the braid and refrigerate until ready to bake.
