Description

For the taco meat:

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water

For assembling:

  • 12 mini taco shells or street taco tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the taco meat: In a skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil and add the ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  2. Assemble the mini tacos: Warm the mini taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions. Fill each shell with a spoonful of taco meat, then top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion. Add a dollop of sour cream and salsa if desired. Garnish with cilantro and serve immediately.
