- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds or hazelnuts)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped candied citrus peel (optional)
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk or lemon juice
Instructions
- Dough Preparation: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, and butter. Remove from heat once smooth. Let cool.
- Mixing: Beat egg in a large bowl. Slowly add the warm honey mix. Gradually stir in dry ingredients to form dough. Fold in nuts and citrus peel. Chill dough for at least 2 hours.
- Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll dough into balls. Flatten slightly and bake for 10–12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
- Glazing: Whisk powdered sugar with milk or lemon juice. Brush over cookies once cooled.
