Main Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast (shredded)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2–3 fresh jalapeños (seeded and sliced)
Seasonings
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Topping
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper and mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning.
- Combine Ingredients: Fold in the shredded chicken, half of the cheddar cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the crumbled bacon into the cream cheese mixture until fully incorporated.
- Assemble the Casserole: Spread the mixture evenly into the greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top, then layer the sliced jalapeños and optional Parmesan cheese evenly over the surface.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese on top has turned a golden brown.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle the remaining crumbled bacon over the top, and allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the number of jalapeños according to your preferred level of spiciness.
- For extra creaminess, stir in a few tablespoons of heavy cream into the mixture before baking.
- This casserole reheats well and can be prepared a day in advance for convenience.
