Jalapeño Bottle Caps:

  • 1215 fresh jalapeños, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice and Soak: Slice jalapeños into rounds and soak in buttermilk for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare Coating: Mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Coat and Fry: Dredge jalapeño slices in flour mixture, fry in batches until crispy.
  5. Drain and Serve: Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and serve hot with dipping sauce.
