Description

These Hot Honey Garlic Flatbread Pizzas are a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner option featuring crispy flatbreads topped with a garlic olive oil base, melted mozzarella and provolone cheeses, tender cooked chicken, and a spicy-sweet drizzle of hot honey. Garnished with fresh herbs, they’re perfect for a cozy meal with a tasty kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Flatbreads & Base

  • 2 flatbreads or naan (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Cheese & Toppings

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone or fontina cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

Finishing Touches

  • 1 tablespoon hot honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and place the flatbreads on a baking sheet, ready for assembly.
  2. Oil & Garlic: Brush each flatbread evenly with olive oil. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic with a small drizzle of olive oil, then spread this garlicky mixture evenly over each flatbread to infuse flavor into the base.
  3. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone (or fontina) cheese evenly over the garlic-oiled flatbreads for a cheesy, melty layer.
  4. Layer Toppings: Distribute the cooked chicken and thinly sliced red onion evenly across both flatbreads to create a balanced topping.
  5. Drizzle & Spice: Drizzle each flatbread with a tablespoon of hot honey, adding a touch of sweet heat, then sprinkle red pepper flakes if you prefer extra spice.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted and the flatbread edges turn golden and crisp.
  7. Finish & Serve: Remove from the oven, drizzle with additional hot honey for extra flavor, and garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Slice into pieces and serve warm for best taste.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken is a convenient shortcut and works perfectly for this recipe.
  • To make this dish vegetarian, omit the chicken and substitute with roasted vegetables or mushrooms.
  • If you don’t have hot honey, use regular honey combined with a pinch of cayenne pepper to achieve a similar spicy-sweet flavor.
