These Halloween Chocolate Chip Cookies are a festive and delicious treat perfect for spooky season. With a soft and chewy texture, loaded with chocolate chips and colorful candies, these cookies are sure to be a hit at any Halloween gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Mix-ins:

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Halloween-colored M&M’s or candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/4 cup orange and black sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Add mix-ins: Stir in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, and sprinkles.
  6. Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press a few extra M&M’s and sprinkles on top for decoration. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look just set.
  7. Cool: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra festive flair, use Halloween-themed cookie cutters to shape the dough or press candy eyes into the tops before baking.
