- 4 ripe Roma tomatoes, finely diced
- 1/2 medium white onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- juice of 1 lime
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced jalapeños, and chopped cilantro.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients. Let the salsa sit for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt and a pinch of black pepper.
Notes
- For a spicier salsa, keep the jalapeño seeds.
- You can substitute red onion for white onion if preferred.
