Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the filling: Melt butter in a skillet, add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cook until bubbly, then add vanilla and rum. Add banana slices and cook briefly.
- Assemble the cobbler: Pour the banana mixture into the baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter. Pour over the bananas.
- Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean. Let cool slightly before serving.

- Omit the rum if desired—vanilla alone still provides great flavor.
