Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed or chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed bananas, Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the oats, whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and flaxseed or chia if using.
  4. Blend wet and dry ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool and slice: Let cool in the pan before slicing into bars.

Notes
