Description

Ingredients

Cream Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box vanilla cake mix
  • Red and green sanding sugar or sprinkles, for rolling
  • Optional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  2. Gradually mix in the cake mix until a soft dough forms. Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in red or green sanding sugar, then place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  6. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar once cooled.
