Description

A delicious twist on the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu, this meatloaf is filled with savory ham and Swiss cheese, topped with a flavorful Dijon gravy.

Meatloaf:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese

Dijon Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare meatloaf: In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add diced ham and shredded cheese. Shape into a loaf and bake for 45–50 minutes.
  3. Make Dijon gravy: Melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add chicken broth and milk. Stir in Dijon mustard, simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve: Rest meatloaf before slicing and serve with warm Dijon gravy.
