Chicken Strips:
- 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenders or chicken breasts (cut into strips)
Breading Mixture:
- 4 cups crushed Cheetos (regular or Flamin’ Hot)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Egg Wash:
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
Others:
- Nonstick cooking spray or oil for baking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare Cheetos coating: Place the crushed Cheetos in a shallow bowl.
- Prepare flour mixture: In a second bowl, mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk egg mixture: In a third bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Coat chicken strips: Dredge each chicken strip first in the seasoned flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally press into the crushed Cheetos until fully coated.
- Bake: Place the coated strips on the prepared baking sheet, spray the tops with nonstick spray, and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, use a wire rack on the baking sheet.
- These can also be air-fried at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes.
- Serve with ranch, honey mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Use Flamin’ Hot Cheetos for a spicy twist.
