Ingredients
Scale
For the dough:
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
For the cheesecake filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the blueberry filling:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in the sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead by hand or with a dough hook for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled.
- Meanwhile, prepare the cheesecake filling by beating the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- For the blueberry filling, combine blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5 minutes, then let cool.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a 10×15-inch rectangle. Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly over the dough, then spoon and gently swirl the blueberry mixture on top.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls. Place rolls into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- These rolls can be prepped the night before and baked fresh in the morning.
- Use frozen blueberries without thawing if preferred.
- Add lemon zest to the glaze for extra brightness.
