Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef:

  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For Stir-Fry:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup snow peas
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water or beef broth
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: Toss the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat oil in a skillet, stir-fry the beef until browned, then set aside.
  3. Cook the Vegetables: Stir-fry garlic, ginger, onion, bell pepper, and snow peas.
  4. Combine: Return the beef to the pan, add the sauce mixture, and stir-fry until heated through.
  5. Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice.

Notes

  • To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes or chili garlic sauce.
  • This dish also works well with chicken or shrimp.
