Description

Indulge in the perfect blend of fall flavors with this Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie featuring a delectable streusel topping. A seasonal twist on a classic dessert that will have your taste buds dancing with delight.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pie Filling:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 3/4 cup apple butter
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

For the Streusel Topping:

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together apple butter, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt. Beat in the eggs, then whisk in the evaporated milk until smooth.
  3. Pour the filling into the prepared crust. Bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the streusel topping by mixing flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut in the cold butter using a fork or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the nuts if using.
  5. After 30 minutes of baking, carefully sprinkle the streusel topping over the partially set pie filling. Return the pie to the oven and bake for an additional 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, blind bake the pie crust for 10 minutes before adding the filling.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Delicious served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
